Anyway, once I bought the fan, I had to wait for my next door neighbors to get home so I could borrow some small screwdriver's from them.
Once I got the screw drivers, I started watching my tutorial video and proceeded to replace the fan.
Replacing the fan WAS TIME CONSUMING.
In order to JUST GET TO THE FAN, I had to take out the heat sink, memory card, screen, keyboard, processor, mother board, and disconnect some stuff. After taking all that apart I finally got to the fan.
After I replaced it, (and cleaned out all the other parts, which were VERY dusty) I put the thing back together.
After I spent a while putting it back together, it wouldn't work. So when it wouldn't work, I was like "COMPUTER Y U NO WORK"
and after it wouldn't work, I had to take it apart AGAIN, and figure out what i did wrong.
Now, it took about 3 hours to do all this.
My computer is now running fine.
...Except I have 4 screws left from taking it apart. I have no idea where they go. :P
My fan totally makes a difference now, as did cleaning out the dust.
Before I replaced the fan, my computer would run anywhere from 60-80 Celsius while doing stuff, and around 100 while playing a game.
Now, my computer is running at a whopping 40-60 Celsius, and it never gets higher than 65, even while I'm playing a game. In fact, the lowest I've seen it read is 37.
I'm happy.
Yay! Glad it works!
ReplyDeleteI fixed my laptop recently and had 3 screws left over. Doesn't it just drive you mad?! :P
